The vision of Ezekiel and the dry bones is a message of God's power to restore and spiritually revive the people of Israel from a state of despair and hopelessness. In the vision, Ezekiel sees a valley filled with dry bones, representing the nation of Israel that had been destroyed and taken into exile in Babylon. The context The vision appears in Ezekiel 37 after the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. The basis of Santeria lies in a merging of Yoruba beliefs and practices with elements from Roman Catholic traditions. I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys (Song of Solomon 2:1). The Rose of Sharon is a flower that grows on mountaintops, and that’s why the Lord referred to Himself as The Rose of Sharon. His mountaintop was Golgotha, and the Lord let me know that people can only find this Rose on Mount Calvary. Roses are noted for their fragrances, and the fragrance from this great Rose travels down from the mount of God and into the valley for us.
